How to fix “Windows cannot access the specified device or path”

          This is one of the very big doubts of everyone in the internet and also a serious discussions with their friends about how to solve the error “Windows cannot access the specified device or path”, while opening a software or any other programs. This problem occurs due to any missed files or any malfunctions in your system.

          I have also the same error for my Chrome software. Uninstalling it many times, but it still not working and shows the same error again and again. But I have solved this problem by using simple technique, now you can also solve this error by following the below mentioned steps. Step – 1 :

Uninstall the software which shows the error. Control Panel>> Programs>> Uninstall the Programs

Step-2 :

Click on Start, in the search box type REGEDIT“.  Then hit enter.

Then you will see like in the below screenshot. Click on that.

Then the regedit window opens and it will show all the installed programs and other important registry files. Then hold Ctrl+ F in your keyboard and after that find dialogue box will be opened. In that type your software name which shows error, For Eg: Chrome Now click Find button.

      Now the registry files are shown in the dialogue box. Now delete the registry values for your software. Note : Sometimes deleting important registry can result in your PC for working slowly or not opening. Be careful in these values.
